Whether you want to pilot a whimsical boat you built from scratch across the lake, or show off your custom camping gear at the campsite, MAKEROAD provides the ultimate stage for your creativity.

Creative Showpieces: Hull designs inspired by biomimicry, sci-fi mechs, or fantasy creatures. Focus on visual impact and fun—these aren't just toys, they're perfect photo props for social media and family fun.
Functional RC Builds: Remote-controlled vessels optimized for MAKEROAD Official Electronics Kits. Prioritize hydrodynamic stability and agile steering to ensure your prints don't just float—they raceacross the water!

🛠️ Submission Guidelines
Functionality First: Entries must suit real-world summer outdoor scenarios, demonstrating strength, weather resistance, and usability. No "display-only" fragile pieces—we want gear that works!
Creativity Bonus: Share your design inspiration, structural ingenuity, or field test stories in the description. Special optimizations for the outdoors (e.g., anti-sink designs, windproof structures) will earn extra favor.
Documentation: Complex builds require clear assembly instructions (PDF or GIF animation) so the community can recreate your success.

Requirements
1. How to Enter
Upload your model → Await model review → Upon approval, navigate to the "Competition" section → Click "Enter Now" → Select your entry and agree to the terms → Submit your work.
2. Originality
Entries must be 100% original creations. Submitting models that infringe upon any third-party intellectual property rights is strictly prohibited. Simple modifications to unauthorized existing models or assets are not permitted. Any discovery of infringement will result in disqualification and potential legal action.
"Simple modifications" refers to changes that do not alter the core structural design, such as scaling, mirroring, stitching, texture swapping, or adding/removing non-functional decorations.
If third-party models/assets are used (including open-source models, commercial models, or base meshes from AI-generated models), the source and specific modifications must be clearly credited in the description; failure to do so will be deemed infringement. The platform reserves the final right of interpretation regarding "originality."
3. Theme Compliance
Submissions must align with the competition theme. Content that is unhealthy, violates platform community guidelines, or constitutes duplicate submissions of the same model is prohibited. Violations will result in immediate removal of the work and disqualification.
4. Exclusivity
Each model may only be entered into one themed competition. If a model is submitted to multiple competitions, it will retain its eligibility only in the first competition it was submitted to; subsequent submissions will be automatically disqualified from winning awards.
5. Format Specifications
● Images: Submit at least three (3) 1:1 ratio images (JPG/PNG, min. resolution 1024x1024). The cover image must be a real-world photograph of the physical printed model. AI-generated backgrounds or scenes are permitted for composition, but the model subject must be a physical shot. Additional images may include renders, work-in-progress shots, or diagrams. All images must clearly display the model.
● Video/GIF: Links to demonstration videos (e.g., YouTube) or GIF animations are highly encouraged in the description field to showcase functionality.
● Files & Info: Upload the model file to the site and complete the title and description. Add at least three (3) tags. For complex structures, provide assembly instructions (PDF or GIF animation).
6. Technical Standards
● All entries must be 3D models suitable for FDM printing (any slicing software permitted). Submitted models must feature sound structural design.
● AI-generated models are permitted but must be printable and match the physical output shown in the photos.
7. Licensing
By entering the competition, participants grant MAKEROAD a non-exclusive license to display and distribute the model on the platform for a minimum period of one (1) year.
8. Penalties
The platform reserves the right to suspend or revoke the eligibility of participants who violate these rules maliciously or repeatedly.

Participate & Earn 30 Points!
(Note: Each ID may submit multiple models but will only receive the participation points once. Points will be distributed after the judging period to all creators whose entries comply with the theme.)
🏆 Professional Awards (1st, 2nd, 3rd Place & Excellence Award)
Winners will be determined by a professional judging panel based on scoring criteria combined with community popularity.
(The panel consists of three members: two top designers from the MakeRoad community and one official MakeRoad designer. Note: Judges are not eligible to compete.)
The panel will score entries based on the following criteria (100-point scale):
1. Creativity & Utility (35%)
● Novelty and uniqueness of the design concept; ability to transcend traditional frameworks.
● Effectiveness in solving practical pain points, with thorough consideration of user experience.
2. Theme Alignment (30%)
● Clear embodiment of summer outdoor elements.
● Bonus: Designs integrating the Makeroad RC Boat electronics kit will receive preferential scoring.
3. Printability & Manufacturability (25%)
● Rationality of support structures and ease of physical printing.
● File standardization and clarity of documentation (clear wiring paths, logical layering, and assembly guides).
4. Aesthetics & Detail (10%)
● Visual refinement, level of detail completion, and color coordination.
● Quality of the cover image/video presentation (visual appeal and richness of scene context).
🏆 Top 3 Downloads Award
● Metric: Total unique user downloads during the competition period (multiple downloads by the same user count as one). Data is tracked via the platform backend and audited after the competition concludes.
● Eligibility: Participants may enter multiple models, but only their single highest-downloaded model qualifies for this ranking.
● Stacking: This award can be won concurrently with Professional Awards; prizes are cumulative.
● Anti-Cheat: The platform employs technical measures to monitor abnormal download activity, including but not limited to: bulk downloads from the same IP address within a short timeframe,
automated script downloads, and any form of download trafficking. Confirmed violations will result in immediate disqualification without prior notice.
*The bundle includes 8 rolls of 1KG PLA filament. Colors are assigned randomly and cannot be specified.
📢 Results & Review
All professional award results will be subject to a 7-day public review period within the competition group immediately following the judges' deliberation.
During this period (Aug 28 – Sep 3, 2026), any objections must be posted in the comments section of the corresponding announcement thread.

This one wins because the detail is honestly impressive, right down to the scales and that toothy grin. I'd love nothing more than to send it gliding across the water and scare a few people. And it's just original: using the RC kit for something other than a boat.

Simple but clever. This is exactly the kind of entry I like: not flashy, but something I'd actually print and use myself. It solves a real everyday problem at the beach, it's easy to print, and it's genuinely useful.

Congratulations on winning the Third Prize. This work is based on real-life pain points of playing at the beach. It can be buried in the sand for fixation. The bucket body can store small personal items such as mobile phones and keys, and is paired with a sealed lid to provide anti-sand and waterproof protection. The design concept is close to life, cleverly solving the problem of having nowhere to put items on the beach and them easily getting sandy. The structural design is practical and clever, and the 3D printing completion is high, reflecting innovative practical ability in observing life, discovering problems, and solving them hands-on.
