Print Your Dark Gear and Bring Your Creativity to Life This Halloween!
This Halloween, let’s skip the boring specs and talk about making a stunning entrance in the dark!
Whether you want to roll through the streets with a ghostly ride you built yourself,
or light up your windows with a glowing jack-o'-lantern, MAKEROAD is giving you the ultimate stage to shine.
✨ Three Tracks to Unleash Your Inner Monster
1. 🎭 Halloween Wearables
● Horror Aesthetics: Masks, headdresses, and shoulder armor inspired by skeletons, vampires, witches, and zombies.
Focus on visual impact and the ritual of wearing them—these are more than just accessories; they are your VIP pass to the spookiest party of the year.
● Interactive & Articulated: Wearable accessories with movable joints, such as wings, tails, and claw gloves.
Designed to work with basic hardware, so you can "wear it, move it, and spook everyone!" We want prints that are wearable, posable, and undeniably scary.
2. 🚤 Halloween RC Builds
● Ghost Rides: Halloween-themed mod shells compatible with MAKEROAD’s official RC car kits.
Think skeleton chariots, pumpkin battle cars, or ghost school buses. Bring the chassis to life with shells that boast smart part-splitting, easy assembly, and high visibility for your nighttime cruising.
● Pumpkin Boats: Halloween-themed hulls compatible with MAKEROAD’s official RC boat kits. Ghost pirate ships, jack-o'-lantern floats, swamp monster vessels...
These designs must balance sailing stability with festive styling for a terrifying splash on the water!
3. 🎃 Halloween Display & Decor
● Dark Ambiance: Festive decorations like jack-o'-lanterns, tombstones, bat swarms, and spider webs to set the mood.
● Collectibles & Toys: Articulated Halloween-themed figurines, miniature dioramas, and desktop landscaping kits.
Balancing playability with display quality, so the Halloween spirit lasts all year round as the ultimate dark aesthetic collection.
🛠 Contest Requirements
● Functionality First: Designs must fit the Halloween use case. Wearables need size specs;
RC mods require assembly instructions for our official kits; decor should include recommended print settings (layer height, supports, filament type).
● Bonus for Creativity: Share your design inspiration, structural ingenuity, or a fun Halloween backstory in your description!
● File Requirements: Complex designs must include clear assembly instructions (PDF or GIF) to ensure the community can recreate your dark masterpiece.
Let the dark, the candlelight, and your 3D prints awaken this Halloween! Fire up your printers and start creating now!
1. How to Enter
Upload your model → Await model review → Upon approval, navigate to the "Competition" section → Click "Enter Now" → Select your entry and agree to the terms → Submit your work.
2. Originality
Entries must be 100% original creations. Submitting models that infringe upon any third-party intellectual property rights is strictly prohibited. Simple modifications to unauthorized existing models or assets are not permitted. Any discovery of infringement will result in disqualification and potential legal action.
"Simple modifications" refers to changes that do not alter the core structural design, such as scaling, mirroring, stitching, texture swapping, or adding/removing non-functional decorations.
If third-party models/assets are used (including open-source models, commercial models, or base meshes from AI-generated models), the source and specific modifications must be clearly credited in the description; failure to do so will be deemed infringement. The platform reserves the final right of interpretation regarding "originality."
3. Theme Compliance
Submissions must align with the competition theme. Content that is unhealthy, violates platform community guidelines, or constitutes duplicate submissions of the same model is prohibited. Violations will result in immediate removal of the work and disqualification.
4. Exclusivity
Each model may only be entered into one themed competition. If a model is submitted to multiple competitions, it will retain its eligibility only in the first competition it was submitted to; subsequent submissions will be automatically disqualified from winning awards.
5. Format Specifications
● Images: Submit at least three (3) 1:1 ratio images (JPG/PNG, min. resolution 1024x1024). The cover image must be a real-world photograph of the physical printed model. AI-generated backgrounds or scenes are permitted for composition, but the model subject must be a physical shot. Additional images may include renders, work-in-progress shots, or diagrams. All images must clearly display the model.
● Video/GIF: Links to demonstration videos (e.g., YouTube) or GIF animations are highly encouraged in the description field to showcase functionality.
● Files & Info: Upload the model file to the site and complete the title and description. Add at least three (3) tags. For complex structures, provide assembly instructions (PDF or GIF animation).
6. Technical Standards
● All entries must be 3D models suitable for FDM printing (any slicing software permitted). Submitted models must feature sound structural design.
● AI-generated models are permitted but must be printable and match the physical output shown in the photos.
7. Licensing
By entering the competition, participants grant MAKEROAD a non-exclusive license to display and distribute the model on the platform for a minimum period of one (1) year.
8. Penalties
The platform reserves the right to suspend or revoke the eligibility of participants who violate these rules maliciously or repeatedly.
This contest features three categories: All-Participant Award, Core Creation Track, and Model Printing Award, with a generous total prize pool and multiple winning opportunities!
Professional awards are judged by the MAKEROAD Official Jury (composed of three members — two top platform designers and one official designer; judges are not eligible to participate) on a 100-point scale based on the following criteria:
💡 Bonus Bias: Works that cleverly incorporate MAKEROAD RC components (cars/boats) will receive additional scoring preference.
1. Creativity & Theme Fit (35%)
How well Halloween elements are expressed; whether the design concept is novel and unique, breaking out of traditional frameworks.
2. Printability & Manufacturability (30%)
Whether support structures are reasonable; file standardization and clarity of usage instructions (clear wiring, reasonable layering, assembly guide).
3. Practicality / Adaptability (25%)
Wearable items must include size parameters; RC modification parts must provide assembly instructions with official components; display items must include recommended print settings.
4. Aesthetics & Details (10%)
Refinement of shape, completion of details, color matching; quality of cover image/demo video.
🎁 All-Participant Award
Eligibility: Creators who meet contest requirements and successfully upload models.
Reward 1: 30 points upon participation (guaranteed for valid entries, distributed after judging).
Reward 2: A chance to win 1 SUNLU S4 Pro Filament Dryer.
The lucky draw will be conducted via a third-party lottery platform (https://log1997.github.io/log-lottery/home), using participating users' IDs as the basis for the draw. The final results will be announced together with the competition awards.
⚠️ Each ID may upload up to 10 contest models, but receives the participation points and draw chance only once (based on user ID).
🏆 Core Creation Track
1. Professional Awards (1st, 2nd, 3rd Prize ×1 each; Excellence Award ×10)
Judged by the jury based on scoring criteria + on-site popularity (downloads, likes, comments).
2. Rising Designer Award (3 winners)
Eligibility: Designers publishing their first work on MAKEROAD. The account must have no approved public models before the contest starts, and the contest entry must be the account's first published model.
Reward: 3 rolls of PLA filament each.
3. TOP 3 Popularity Awards (3 winners)
Selection Criteria: Independently judged; the sole basis is final vote count from public voting, unrelated to professional jury scores.
Public Voting Rules:
Reward: 5 rolls of PLA filament.
⚠️ The same work can win both the "Top Popularity Award" and "Professional Awards" simultaneously; prizes are stackable.
📣 Model Printing Award (200 winners)
How to Participate: If a user uploads a photo of a physical print of a contest model on that model's page, both the uploader and the model designer will each receive 30 points.
Notes:
1.Both single users and designers can earn a maximum of 90 points through this stage.
2.For works of the same model, if a user uploads multiple printing photos, the reward will only be calculated once; repeated uploads will not result in duplicate point issuance.
3.Designers are prohibited from printing their own competition entries to participate in this award.
1.Points Distribution: Points will be credited to user accounts within 14 business days after the winners are announced.
2.Physical Prizes: The organizer will contact winners via registered email to arrange delivery. Please ensure registration information is accurate.

1.Inventory Conversion: If a prize is out of stock, it will be converted to points at a rate of 1 roll of filament = 99 points.
2.Stackable Rewards: Contest rewards can be stacked with other platform activities.
The following behaviors, once verified, will result in cancellation of rewards and corresponding penalties:
1.Plagiarism / Reposting: Uploading plagiarized, reposted, or IP-infringing models results in cancellation of all points and eligibility; severe cases lead to account ban.
2.Fake Engagement: Fake posts or inflated interaction data (self-farming/mutual farming of downloads/favorites/likes/votes) results in cancellation of related points and rewards. The platform monitors abnormal behavior (same IP, automated scripts, etc.) via technical means; once confirmed, disqualification applies.
3.Associated Accounts: Highly similar shipping information (suspected multi-account participation by the same user) results in cancellation of excess account rewards, retaining only the first qualifying account.
4.Malicious Violations: For malicious or repeat offenders, the platform reserves the right to suspend or cancel participation and accounts.
1.MAKEROAD reserves the final right of interpretation for this event.
2.The platform may reasonably adjust rules based on actual operation and will notify users via site announcements.
